Questions:
How much is needed?
The total project was $3.7 million. Thanks to members' generous support of two previous capital campaigns, we expect to have raised over $2.6 million by the end of 2010. We will need an additional $1.3 million from this campaign.
How was the money used?
To remodel the sanctuary, rebuild and expand the organ, enlarge the foyer, install an elevator, build a new kitchen off Emory Hall and make other structural improvements to improve energy efficiency, safety and fire preparedness.
Three campaigns is a lot, isn't it?
Three campaigns over nine years was always our plan. Paying for a project of this scope in this time frame is not only a marvelous achievement, but also a wonderful gift to the future of Harvey Browne. We realize the magnitude of this commitment. But God has truly blessed Harvey Browne and its ministries in the past.
What if we raise more than $1.3 million?
We could make other improvements, possibly a steeple or outside cross to give Harvey Browne more of a "church" face, anew roof over Emory Hall or green-energy improvements. We could repay money borrowed from our endowments for a new boiler and new air conditioning system.
How much do I need to pledge and for how long?
Pledges will be for three-years. The amount is up to you. We hope members will contribute sacrificially with money that would otherwise be used for other purposes. As we all participate according to our ability, God multiplies our giving.
How should I prepare to participate?
Allow God to speak to your heart through prayer. Read scripture passages that speak about stewardship and giving, such as 1 Corinthians 16:2, Proverbs 11:25, Proverbs 3:5-9, 2 Corinthians 8:7, Acts 20:35, Luke 6:38, and Psalm 116:12.
